Close Down. Once again.

Production of the 2021 Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray is, as soon as again, closed down. If you’re not keeping track (like I am), this is now the 4th time General Motors pushed time out on production of the cars. The shutdown began Jan. 29, according to a Corvette Blogger report from and employees were expected to go back to begin developing the automobile on Feb. 8.

However, employees didn’t return on today like Chevy initially anticipated. A representative informed Roadshow, “Due to a short-lived parts supply concern, we can verify that Bowling Green Assembly will not run production the week of February 8. Our supply chain, production and engineering groups are working carefully with our supply base to alleviate any additional effect on production, and we anticipate the plant to resume regular operations on Monday, February 15.”

The brand name didn’t discuss what there’s in fact a scarcity of, so it’s unclear what resulted in the interruption this time. Back in November when production picked up a 3rd time, Chevy decreased to reveal what parts scarcities triggered the shutdown, so it’s extremely not likely we’ll find out more this time.

As I stated, the eighth-generation Corvette’s had a rocky roadway because GM exposed the mid-engine cars. A United Automobile Employees strike initially pushed production by a couple months, and when production lastly did get off the ground, the coronavirus pandemic hit. GM signed up with almost every other significant car manufacturer in closing down vehicle production to slow the spread of the infection last March, and ittook Corvette production offline with it GM likewise had a one-week-long shutdown last October for other provider concerns.
